1780s Green Roundgown

1780s Green Roundgown

Pattern: Self drafted/draped angalise pattern converted into an Roundgown by attaching the front skirt to the gown.

Fabric: 4 of patterned green polyester satin curtains. 0,5 of cotton lining.

Notion: 2 m of ribbon for skirt ties, thread and hook & eyes for the front edge.

How historical accurate: the look is ok, but the fabric choice (polyester) and the construction (machine made) is all modern.

Time: About 8 hours from start to finish.

Worn: Only for photos.
Sold unworn in the spring of 2020

Final thoughts: This gown was a quick project inspired by an original roundgown in the Met.
The end result was almost exactly as I envisioned.

Made in 2020
